After completing the spring semester and signing up for summer classes, I still had not taken a single class that deals with web design. In addition, there was no food available for students to eat during the summer. All vending machines were emptied, and the cafe was shut down for the semester. During the first week of the semester the vending machines were full and I inserted a $10 bill to get a couple snacks since it was the only money I had. The machine ate my money and never gave me any food - after asking multiple people to help me, they shrugged at me and told me to go get food elsewhere.
The Central Campus is a great place! I recommend!
Also, to this day I still have not received my student ID. Every time I go to College Hall to get a new one, they send it out and I get an email about 2 weeks later saying it was "returned to sender". Both my father and uncle went here many years ago and didn't have these problems, so something must have changed to make this place so horrible.
After numerous attempts to contact my advisor or really anyone that could assist me with changing majors, I gave up and decided to continue with this pointless Web Design major. I then realized there were about 5 classes I had to take as prerequisites that were not listed on the original course plan, which would set me back about 2 semesters because a majority of the classes were only available in the spring.
Went here planning to pursue a future career in photography or business. They had switched my advisor about 3 times before I met with someone who actually told me there are no photography degrees available. I inquired about doing a business degree, but no one seemed to want to answer my question. So, I asked about doing a graphic design degree - they don't offer that either - so I was put into a Web Design major.
My mom found an amazing school, The Lansdale School of Business, that offers a Graphic Design diploma program that is exactly what I wanted. I went there for a meeting about 2 weeks ago, told them about my issues at Montco, and they assured me that I was not alone. I officially dropped out of MCCC today and am so happy that I'm finally starting the education that I need, despite being out about $4000 because of taking classes that didn't even transfer.
I was totally fine with web design since I would also be able to take graphic design classes; however, I was told by my advisor that this was an associates degree designed for me to get a job right after graduation. It was not that at all - in fact, it was a transfer program designed for me to complete 4 years of school when I made it very clear I only had enough money for 2 years of Montco.
I know one of the security guys. But this place was the best but the some of students there act like pricks to make this school look bad i only see a other international people there not much africans and Multicultural people from the island there. I will never come back there nomore to stereotypes of people.
The teachers for the most part are amazing and the advisor that I had was extremely helpful and nice and I also made a lot of friends here. However, for some reason, I was fined for over 1,000 dollars and when I spoke to the people in charge of my financial aid they said that I should have been covered for the entire semester. Apparently a lot of other students are having troubles like this as well which is not good.
Since it may be relevant with today's headlines. Politics can be noticed. I've heard of a few occurrences but personally I've never ran into any situations or really seen any. So you can avoid it if you want to.
Pretty great place to go! Good diversity in class selection. Teachers are good if you use the ratemyprofessor site. Had bad teachers before but this is a great place to start again. Or start for the first time. You can earn credits and save money.
I love taking classes on campus and the professors are super nice, however, the staff that handles phone calls are soo unprofessional! They always answer with an attitude and they act as if your not important for them to help. This school campus is nice and you'll meet great ppl, but enrollment services and financial aid staff members always have an attitude even if your nice to them!
